Upon completing the course and passing the exam, participants will achieve the following learning outcomes:
1. Introduction to MikroTik Understand MikroTik products, including RouterOS and RouterBOARD. 2. Router Access and Configuration Learn methods for accessing the router (WinBox, WebFig, Quick Set). Utilize the RouterOS command line interface (CLI) through various terminals (WinBox/WebFig, SSH, Telnet). 3. Initial Router Setup Perform initial configuration for Internet access, including WAN DHCP-client and LAN IP setup. Implement basic firewall settings with NAT masquerade. 4. RouterOS Management Upgrade RouterOS and RouterBOOT firmware. Manage router identity, logins, services, and configuration backups. Reinstall and reset RouterOS devices using tools like Netinstall. 5. DHCP and Network Protocols Set up and manage DHCP server and client configurations. Understand and configure Address Resolution Protocol (ARP). Overview of bridging, creating bridges, and adding ports to bridges. 6. Routing Fundamentals Learn routing concepts and static routing, including route creation and management. Implement static routing in a simple network setup. 7. Wireless Networking Understand wireless concepts, including frequencies, data rates, and regulatory compliance. RouterOS Tools and Monitoring Utilize RouterOS tools such as Netwatch, Ping, Traceroute, and Profiler. Monitor network performance using traffic monitors, Torch, graphs, SNMP, and The Dude.
